Intestacy and Letters of Administration

Intestacy is the term that is used when a person dies without a will (or an invalid will). The rules of intestacy are set out in the NSW Succession Act 2006.

A grant of Letters of Administration appoints an Administrator as the legal representative to administer the estate of an intestate person.
